*JEWEL NEWS!! - As I found out this week, folk's finest gem is back with a new studio album and a single out next week (about the 15th Oct) called "Standing Still". *DELAYED DESTINY - As I just found out today on the Sydneyis.com site, Destiny's Child has postponed their concert tour of Australia (hitting Sydney and Melbourne only), due to the tragic occurrences in America.
*ANGEL IS HERE - Dido will be playing shows in Melbourne and Sydney - Tickets are on sale now for \$76.10
*CORR-TASTIC - The Corrs are also hitting our shores after postponing their earlier booked concerts. Tickets are \$65 (plus booking fee) for their Sydney and Melbourne gigs.

*Train will be playing a show in Brisbane on Nov 30. Tickets go on sale on 29th October. The "Drops Of Jupiter" boys will be supported by mystery artists. For more info, go to www.ticketek.com.au for show info, or Train's Official Site at www.trainline.com.
*Pre-Matchbox 20 band Tabitha's Secret yielded a superb album titled "Don't Play With Matches". This record will be released in the States this month. No news yet on whether the CD will be let loose in Oz, but they can be downloaded off various internet programs, such as Satellite. Best Picks:- "Forever December", "Dear Joan", "Unkind", "High", "(Just Plain) Tired" and "You And I And I".
Friday 4th October 2001
*Singer/Actress Aaliyah passed away on 25th August 2001 in a plane crash near the Bahamas. Co-star of the hit movie "Romeo Must Die", whose soundtrack spawned her number 1 hit, the inspirational "Try Again". The 22-year-old had recently released her 3rd album and finished filming a movie. Aaliyah rest in peace.
*A new Elvis Presley 4CD album is released. Called "Live in Las Vegas". For more info, check out the *Elvis Presley* section, or this week's issue of Rave Magazine (Wed 3rd October 2001) for more information and a review.
*The ARIAs were screened on Channel 9 on Wednesday 3rd October. Highlights include Kasey Chambers' performance of "Not Pretty Enough" featuring Keith Urban on guitar and backing vocals. Keith won the Outstanding Achiever of The Year award (I didn't even know he was Australian!). Also, London folkstar, the angelic Dido performed her Australian single, "Here With Me" which is also the "Roswell" theme song. Tina Arena introduced her comeback with a pumped up, dance-y rendition of her new single, "Soulmate #9".
*Kylie Minogue holds number one for the 3rd week with "Can't Get You Out Of My Head".
*3 Doors Down fans - another repackaged version of their album "The Better Life" is available. The "Australian Exclusive Platinum Edition" is available in a snazzy silver slip and features their hit singles and a limited edition bonus disc. More information later when I see the album.
Wednesday 15th August 2001 - 15/8/01
*Gig: Sydney-based trio X3, will be performing at this Saturday's (18th August) Hyperage at Hyperdome Shopping Centre at Loganholme. The underage dance party will run from 7.30 - 10.00pm and tickets are \\$10.
*As of last Weekend, US rock group Lifehouse, has secured the number one spot on the Aussie charts, with their beautiful "Hanging By A Moment". Way to go, guys!!! (Nikki Webster is strong at No.2 with her sweet "Strawberry Kisses", while former No.1 "Follow Me" by Uncle Kracker slips to No.3).
*Britney Spears will be here on September 12 for a quick promo tour. No news on whether she's coming to the Sunshine State (QLD), just Sydney is confirmed.

*Shaggy is STILL number one with "Angel".
*Newly quartet-ed Bardot rock on without cute Katie Underwood in "A.S.A.P".

*A 2CD 'Tour Edition' of 3 Doors Down's debut album, "The Better Life" has been released and features live acoustics, unreleased songs as well as the videos to 'Kryptonite' and 'Loser'.
*The Scandal'us tour has been rescheduled from July to November. They will perform at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre.
*Shaggy holds #1 for yet another week with the smooth reggae-ish 'Angel'. ["Shorty you're my angel, you're darling angel?"].
*Tours: Mandy Moore will be here for a promo tour in July + Robbie Williams will hit our shores later in 2001.
