AUSTRALIA'S newest rock festival will return veteran rocker Billy Idol to the Brisbane stage.
Idol will play ANZ Stadium as part of M-One, the first large-scale live rock event presented by Triple M.
He will be joined by international rock acts Garbage, the Goo Goo Dolls and Nickelback, and Aussie rockers Midnight Oil and The Whitlams for the outdoor concert on October 5.
Brisbane band Palladium are also on the bill, as are comedy acts Puppetry of the Penis, Lano and Woodley and Guido Hatzis.
There also will be wrestling and skateboarding competitions.
Triple M had not confirmed ticket prices yesterday, but Brisbane music director Mitch Braund said punters would pay under $100. He said it was hoped the festival would attract music fans up to the age of 40.
Mr Braund said the event was targeting a different market to that of musical festival Livid, also to be held in October.
"Livid is a great alternative festival ? we have a more mainstream line-up," he said.
M-One also will be held in Sydney and Melbourne.
Tickets go on sale July 4.
In December, promoters Austereo Live will stage Rumba, a pop event hosted in Brisbane by B105.
